God’s Tattoos

I have three tattoos and each one is meaningful. I have one representing my marriage, faith and my baby girl. No matter where I go, they go with me. Same is true with God’s presence. We don’t have to try hard to get to God. He is with us. We are like God’s tattoos.

I’d like to share today’s Joyce message.

God’s Tattoos

by Joyce Meyer – posted September 14, 2012

Where could I go from  Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence? If I ascend up into  heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold,  You are there. If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost  parts of the sea, even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall  hold me. —Psalm 139:7-10

Sometimes we try so hard to get into the presence of God,  but the truth is that it is impossible to get away from Him. He is in constant  pursuit of us. You may sometimes feel that the Lord is not near, but that is  why knowing the Word is so important.

The prophet Isaiah brought a complaint before the Lord,  reporting that His people were saying: The  Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. [And the Lord answered] “Can a woman forget her  nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget  you. Behold, I have indelibly  imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands (Isaiah  49:14-16).

Parents did not originate  the idea of keeping pictures of their children handy—God carries a picture of  His children everywhere He goes. The next time you question your self-worth,  remember that God has your picture tattooed on the palms of His hands.

The X Factor vs The Voice

Last night was my first time watching The X Factor. I love Britney Spears but she looked really nervous up there! I would be too. Especially if I encountered people like that one guy who used to work with her, got up on stage and got all dramatic. OMG. What was that?

I’ve also been watching The Voice this week and I think I like the concept of the show better. However, I think X-Tine should hire a better make up artist and make cover up the ta-tas a little bit because it takes away my attention from everything else!

Gold Diggers & Pimps

My heart breaks when I see…

Mothers teaching their daughters to become gold diggers letting them believe true love doesn’t exit.

Fathers teaching their sons to be pimps and make it all about money & sex.

Guys are buying stuff to impress girls so they can get with them.

If it wasn’t for materialism, we wouldn’t be in debt, we’d be in love.

What are you teaching your children?

What messages are we sending?

What kind of example are we setting?

9 Reasons that explain the steady collapsing of marriage in America

–I assume that the relationship is probably going to break up at some point, and the breakup will hurt less if we were never married in the first place.

–Marriage is an exploitative, chauvinistic anachronism that heavily favors patriarchal control. Liberated women will more likely get what they want on their own.

–From the male point of view, women are giving it away these days. You don’t have to commit to her to get sex.

–Single parenthood is the new normal. African-Americans are already there with single-parent birthrates in some places above 70 percent. White folks’ single parenthood stats are following.

–My mom was a single parent, and I turned out fine.

–Marriage is something you can think about when your kids are raised and you are secure in your job.

–Cohabiting preserves your freedom of choice.

–Movies and TV shows relentlessly portray young men as either uneducated, clueless, reckless, socially inept, or violent. Why would any woman want to lock in her life to such a high-risk partner?

–I’m not going to get married until I find the perfect soul mate.

Are these the attitudes you want in your children’s minds? In your grandchildren’s? In your own spouse’s?

If you don’t, God has a better way. Let’s give the divine designer a chance to explain to us how to be happily married till death us do part and how to build a family life that will give him glory.

Paperwork

It seems like paperwork doesn’t end no matter which way you go. Being back into school, I’ve already had to complete so many different forms. I think I’m remembering why I hated school so much and it’s because of the paperwork!

This is making me want to revert to my emotional eating habits and have a juicy HABIT veggie burger Ah!

Weekend fun

We have good days and we have not so good days but even then, there is always some good in any day! This weekend was good in every way. 🙂

A wonderful woman whom I accidentally met at CVS, 3 years ago took me out to a late birthday lunch on Saturday afternoon. We caught up for three hours. I had seen her a couple of months before that when she came over for my daughter’s one year birthday!

Saturday night, we chilled at home and then walked to Yogurt land with the fam and on our way back, stopped at my cousin’s place to see her munchkin who just turned 2 months. Emma was having so much fun playing with her.

Sunday, we had a Water Baptism service at church. So touching.

One of the take away lessons from the sermon was

When you decide to follow Jesus, the storms in life don’t go away but He won’t let you walk alone and He will walk with you and get you through.

Afterwards, took Emma to her first birthday invite at Kids playhouse. That was a crazy 2 hours but ton of fun.

We got home to daddy, ate pizza, and watched football until later in the evening when Emma fell asleep, I got to out to sushi with my lovely sister.

oh and then I got to edit one of my all time favorite photos of me and my hubby!!! This was taken 2 years ago, at my cousin’s wedding.

That’s what I call a perfect weekend 🙂
