Cultural Toxins

Cultural toxins are things that our cultural and society has made a trend of and has justified it by calling it the new norm,  but they are not necessary beneficial to us.

You say, “I am allowed to do anything”–but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”–but not everything is beneficial. – 1 Corinthians 10:13

Personally, I’m a very emotional person and I need to guard my mind and heart more than others because things do effect me. Good things influence me in a positive way and bad things influence me in a negative way. I’m positive, this is true for the most of us.

Think about the books you’re reading, tv shows and movies that you’re watching, magazines you’re looking at and the music you listen to.  How are you influenced by them?

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.- Philippians 4:8

If they fall into the category of cultural toxins, they pollute us.  This can be different individually.

Proverbs 25:26-27 NLT

26 If the godly give in to the wicked, it’s like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring. 27 It’s not good to eat too much honey, and it’s not good to seek honors for yourself.

Study suggests, YOU ARE WHAT YOU READ. Here is an interesting article on it. YOU ARE WHAT YOU READ

Be good to yourself,
